Once the property of the Malatesta seignory, our ancient residence now boasts two charming suites that have been skilfully restored, in keeping with their historical identity.
The Palazzo and its charming suites
Palazzo del Poggiano is a member of ADSI - Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane (Italian Historic Homes Association). It retains the ancient form of a noble residence, its old kitchen and an oil mill, as well as cellars and a large, well-kept park.
Several striking extensions have been made over the centuries, such as the small frescoed chapel dating back to the 19th century and the 17thcentury staircase that serves as an entrance to the courtyard and main floor.
It is precisely there that two suites, full of history, memories and beauty, can be found today. Their names are a tribute to the oldest Malatesta owners, but the atmosphere is that of the noble residence of the last century:
Sigismondo Suite: spacious and majestic, with wonderful views over the Marecchia Valley to the Apennine mountains and the olive grove that borders the residence’s park. It comprises a large private living room with mezzanine, double bedroom and bathroom with shower.
Isotta Suite: elegant, intimate and romantic, overlooking the park surrounding the palace and the Marecchia Valley as far as the coast. It comprises a private living room, bedroom with
Queen-size double bed with canopy and bathroom with shower.
Skilfully restored and with attention paid to every small detail, these rooms exude the spirit of times gone by - a time when the hours passed slowly, a time marked by the surrounding nature, the rising and setting of the sun, the chirping of the birds, the song of the cicadas and the rustle of the wind through the trees.
Guests are offered a rich breakfast, which is served in a dedicated wing of the building or, on fine summer days, in the beautiful courtyard at the top of the staircase.
